Time Thief Relative Impresses At Flemington

Nadeson Park Stud’s resident sire Time Thief received another notable update to his pedigree, when his close relative Personal scored at Flemington on Saturday.

Second on debut, when beaten by the promising Fresh, the two-year-old daughter of Fastnet Rock made amends when winning smartly over the weekend.

Ridden by Craig Williams, Personal was held up behind runners when looking to improve over the final furlongs before eventually easing her way to the outside to make her run, albeit by that stage she found herself at the tail of the field.

When given full rein she hit the line hard to win the 1100m dash by half a length running away.

Co-trainer David Hayes said after the win,”I see her probably more as a Sires’ (Sires’ Produce 1400m) type of filly rather than a sprinter, Miss Finland was that way. She might need to go fresh into the Blue Diamond straight off this win.”

A $460 000 buy from the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Personal is the sixth winner, from as many runners, for Galileo’s stakes winning daughter Personify, and is thus bred on the same Fastnet Rock/Galileo cross as G1 winners Qualify, Rivet, Intricately, Zhukova, Unforgotten, Age Of Fire and Magicool.

Herself a winner of the SAJC Queen Adelaide Stakes, Personify is one of 5 stakes winners for outstanding producer, and G3 VATC Tristarc Stakes winner Procrastinate -best known in South Africa as dam of champion Laisserfaire and Zeditave Stakes winning sire Time Thief.
