SOMEWHERE IN TIME STAYS UNBEATEN
Owner Nic Jonsson paid R1,2-million for Captain Al’s daughter Somewhere In Time at the 2018 Cape Premier Sale, and while there is a long way to go, she is showing good signs.
Two-year-old Somewhere In Time followed her Maiden Juvenile win over 1000m in January at Kenilworth with a 1200m victory in a small field at Scottsville on Sunday. She didn’t beat much, but looks progressive and has a future.
“We weren’t going to race her here, but I saw the field scratch up to five runners. She wasn’t ready, but I thought this would be a worthwhile gallop for 60k. Lots of credit to Anton Marcus for his ride!”
Somewhere in Time is from a top Normandy Stud family, her unraced dam Ekaterina is a half-sister to former Gr1 star Mother Russia and Jonsson said: “She has a serious pedigree, a beautiful filly and we are hopeful.”
He joked: “She is quite difficult, was showing Anton his age but he seems to have worked her out!”
