Smart Winner For Coup De Grace

Klawervlei Stud’s well performed young stallion COUP DE GRACE (Tapit) came up with an impressive debut winner on Friday when his son COUP DE TETE scored over 1600 metres.

Trained by Yvette Bremner, the three-year-old colt pulled clear in the closing stages of Friday’s race to win by a length for owners David and Sandy Hepburn-Brown, Hedley McGrath and Braam Van Huyssteen.

The Klawervlei Stud bred colt was a R225 000 buy from the 2019 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Coup De Tete is one of 17 first-crop runners for the multiple graded stakes winning Coup De Grace to have either won or finished in the money thus far.

The only son of multiple champion sire Tapit at stud in South Africa, Coup De Grace won both the G2 Amsterdam and G3 Bay Shore Stakes.

The handsome chestnut shares his champion sire with red hot US stallion CONSTITUTION -whose first crop includes the 2020 G1 Belmont Stakes winner TIZ THE LAW.
