Gimmethegreenlight Filly Impresses In Lady’s Pendant Win

Varsfontein Stud’s More Than Ready horse Gimmethegreenlight (pictured) horse came up with his 30th black type winner when his daughter Roll In The Hay won Friday’s Listed Lady Pendant (1200m) at Fairview racecourse.

One of three winners on the card for trainer Candice Bass-Robinson and jockey Aldo Domeyer, the Nadeson Park Stud bred filly showed her class with a decisive and clear-cut win in Friday’s sprint feature for fillies and mares.

Given a confident ride by her jockey, Roll In The Hay, third in the recent G2 WSB Live Games Southern Cross Stakes, was relaxed early under Aldo Domeyer as Racine cut out the pace.
Inside the 300m, Roll In The Hay was going twice as well as her opposition and she drew off well to record her first win over 1200m, while posting a two and a half-length win. Milkwood Stakes winner Racine (35-1) stayed on for second, with Carioca (13-2) finishing a well-beaten third.

Roll In The Hay claimed the 2021 Lady’s Pendant in a time of 67.22 seconds.

The four-year-old Roll In The Hay, who was bred by Nadeson Park Stud, races for Mrs Vanashree & Mr Anant Singh & Team Valor International.

A R400 000 buy from the 2018 Cape Premier Yearling Sale, Roll In The Hay has now won four of her 17 starts, with her maiden black type win taking her earnings to R250 300.

The filly went two placings better than her dam did -with Roll In The Hay’s East Cape Fillies Nursery winning dam Country Girl (by Mon Sang) running third in the 2011 Lady’s Pendant.
